3SquaresVT (SNAP Food Assistance)

3SquaresVT is Vermont’s SNAP food-assistance program. DCF reviews household eligibility and provides benefits for approved cases.

Who can apply

Income and household circumstances affect eligibility. Households with an older or disabled member may qualify under different rules; ask DCF rather than relying on an old table.

What help is available

Monthly help buys eligible food. Most households use EBT; the state lists a cash-deposit route for households consisting entirely of people age 65 or older or receiving SSI.

Documents to prepare

  • Household identity information.
  • Income and relevant expense evidence.
  • Requested status and other verification.

How to get started

  1. Apply

Use the myBenefits link on 3SquaresVT or request Form 202 at 800-479-6151.

  2. Submit signed records

Return paper forms by the listed mail, district-office or document-upload route.

  3. Complete follow-up

Respond to the interview and verification requests, explaining urgent food needs.

After applying

Read the decision and case-specific reporting instructions. Older or disabled households can ask about simplified intake.
