Who can apply
['WIC serves income-eligible participants in the pregnancy, postpartum or breastfeeding categories and infants and children younger than five. Clinic staff assess the other certification conditions, including nutritional need.', 'A parent or caregiver can apply for a child. Dads, grandparents, foster parents and other guardians are included; the program is not limited to mothers requesting their own benefits.']What help is available
Participants receive nutrition education, breastfeeding support, supplemental foods and referrals. eWIC purchases follow the approved food package rather than an unrestricted grocery allowance.
Documents to prepare
Ask the clinic what identity, residency and income evidence to provide. Its policy recognizes pay stubs, benefit letters and other records and allows several verification methods. Explain missing records before the appointment so staff can advise you.
