Arkansas WIC

Arkansas WIC supplies food benefits and nutrition services for eligible pregnancy, postpartum and breastfeeding participants, infants and children under five. Enrollment starts with an appointment at a local health unit or WIC clinic.

Who can apply

['Applicants must live in Arkansas, meet income guidelines and have a nutritional need reviewed by WIC staff.', 'The program accepts eligible participants in pregnancy, breastfeeding or postpartum categories and young children. Qualifying Medicaid/ARKids, TEA or SNAP proof can be used for the income check.']

What help is available

WIC supplies nutrient-rich supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and health referrals. It provides a defined food package rather than unrestricted cash.

Documents to prepare

Bring identification for yourself and each child, Arkansas residence evidence and income proof. The state also asks you to bring the children applying. Contact the clinic beforehand about missing documents or a needed accommodation.

How to get started

  1. Find the local health unit or clinic through Arkansas WIC.
  2. Call for an appointment. The state says you can apply and receive WIC in any Arkansas county.
  3. Complete the eligibility and nutrition visit. Ask about using the eWIC card and the next benefit or certification appointment.

After applying

Keep the card and PIN secure, collect benefits on time and report the household or participant changes required by WIC. Contact clinic staff about a lost card, transfer or food-package question. The June–July 2026 technology pause on the webpage is historical, not a current closure.
