How to get started

  1. Apply through ACCESS, call or visit the local agency, or submit paper form F-16019.
  2. Call the agency for the interview or answer its call; interviews are by phone unless you request an in-person meeting.
  3. Explain relevant work-rule exemptions and send requested proof.

After applying

Use MyACCESS to manage benefits and follow notices about reporting and renewal. If subject to the time-limited work requirement without exemption, the state lists three months in the current January 2025–December 2027 period. Ask the agency about exemptions, good cause and FSET support.
