Who can apply
HUSKY A serves eligible children, parents, caregivers and pregnant applicants; HUSKY B is CHIP for eligible uninsured children. HUSKY C covers qualifying older, blind or disabled residents, while HUSKY D serves eligible adults without dependent children.
What help is available
Coverage can help with medical care and other covered services. HUSKY B may involve family cost sharing; do not assume every HUSKY pathway has identical rules.
Documents to prepare
- Household members’ names, birth dates and current address.
- Income and requested identification or status records.
- For HUSKY C or disability pathways, additional financial or disability evidence requested by DSS.
How to get started
Choose the application route
Use Access Health CT for HUSKY A, B or D.
Use ConneCT for HUSKY C
Applicants for HUSKY C or Medicaid for Employees with Disabilities can use ConneCT, under Apply for Benefits.
Respond to the determination
Submit requested evidence and read the notice for each applicant. Different people in one household can qualify through different pathways.
After applying
Update address and phone details so renewal notices reach you. If not eligible, ask about other coverage options rather than assuming an entire family is excluded.

Common questions
Is there one application website for everyone?
No. A, B and D use Access Health CT; C and MED-Connect use ConneCT.
Is HUSKY B Medicaid?
It is Connecticut’s Children’s Health Insurance Program, with different income and cost-sharing rules.
What if I work and have a disability?
Ask DSS about MED-Connect rather than relying only on the ordinary HUSKY C limits.
Can members of a family have different coverage?
Yes. Eligibility is assessed by the relevant pathway for each person.
