Who can apply
Kansas residents may qualify during pregnancy, breastfeeding through the baby’s first birthday, or non-breastfeeding postpartum through six months. Infants and children under five also qualify when income and nutrition-risk conditions are met.
What help is available
The WIC card buys approved foods. Clinics provide nutrition education, breastfeeding support and referrals.
Documents to prepare
Bring applicant and child identification, Kansas residence evidence and household income proof. Ask the clinic which records it accepts for your circumstances.
How to get started
Use the pre-application linked from Kansas WIC’s family page; a local agency contacts you for an appointment.
Attend the clinic assessment. If transferring from another state, contact WIC directly instead of submitting the new-applicant pre-application.
After applying
Follow clinic appointments and food-shopping instructions. If moving away, ask for a Verification of Certification to help transfer services.
