Who can apply
['The child must meet Arizona residency, income, citizenship or qualifying immigration, and Social Security number requirements.', 'The program checks that the child does not qualify for Medicaid, does not have current health insurance, and is not eligible for state-employee health coverage. Other program conditions still apply.']What help is available
KidsCare provides AHCCCS medical coverage through an enrolled health plan. Benefits include physician, hospital, prescription, dental, vision and behavioral health services under the plan’s coverage rules.
Documents to prepare
Prepare the child’s identity and household information, income records and current or recent coverage details. Keep any proof of applying for a Social Security number if needed. Ask the worker which verification is required before sending sensitive records.
How to get started
- Use the KidsCare page to review the conditions and application link.
- Apply through Health-e-Arizona Plus. Request assistor help through the AHCCCS application page if needed.
- Respond to verification requests and read the decision for the effective date and health-plan enrollment.
After applying
Confirm when coverage starts before using the plan. Check participating providers and keep the child’s renewal and contact information current. Premium policy can change, so follow the current AHCCCS notice rather than an older screenshot.
