Common questions
Can a father or foster parent apply for a child?
Yes. Maine lists fathers, legal guardians, adoptive parents and foster parents among caregivers who can apply.
Does MaineCare proof complete WIC enrollment?
No. It can establish income eligibility, but WIC still completes its category and nutrition review.
Can I request a call rather than find an office myself?
The state contact form allows a WIC staff member to call and arrange an appointment.
How long should I allow for the first visit?
Maine’s current application page suggests about an hour. Confirm the appointment arrangements with your clinic.
