Nevada Child Care Subsidy (Child Care and Development Program)

Nevada childcare subsidy applications can be submitted through Access Nevada. Check the state’s current parent instructions because regional submission options and waiting-list arrangements differ.

Who can apply

The program evaluates household income and the adults’ approved need for care, such as work or qualifying education activities. Initial and renewal income rules differ; the current chart applies.

What help is available

Subsidy helps with approved childcare costs. Family copayments and provider eligibility must be confirmed, and new applicants may face an indefinite waiting period.

Documents to prepare

  • Prepare household identity, residence and income evidence.
  • Have work or education schedules and child custody details ready.
  • Ask about documentation for a child’s additional care needs.
  • Check that your selected provider is approved for subsidy.

How to get started

  1. Apply online

Use Access Nevada from the state parent page.

  2. Use the correct regional alternative

Southern Nevada applicants can also email [email protected], mail the application or deliver it to DSS. Northern instructions currently direct applicants online.

  3. Confirm status before arranging paid care

Ask whether you are waiting or approved, the authorized start date, provider and family copayment.

After applying

Read renewal and document requests promptly. An application or waiting-list place is not a payment authorization; confirm coverage dates before relying on reimbursement.

The state does not publish a fixed waiting duration and says applications are processed chronologically.

The published parent guidance says active certificates are honored until expiration; renewal applies current rules.
