Who can apply
Medicaid has several coverage categories, including children, families, adults and aged, blind or disabled applicants. Nevada Check Up serves eligible uninsured children through age 18 who are not covered by Medicaid or private insurance.
What help is available
Approved coverage pays for qualifying health services. Fees, coverage dates and plan arrangements depend on the program and the individual determination.
Documents to prepare
- Household identity and income details.
- Information about existing health coverage.
- Any citizenship or immigration evidence requested for applicants.
- Additional disability or other category-specific evidence if requested.
How to get started
Apply through Access Nevada
Use Access Nevada; the pre-screen is a preliminary guide rather than an approval.
Use the paper route if needed
The medical-assistance application instructions also list a paper health-insurance application and its mailing instructions.
Read individual decisions
Respond to verification requests and check the coverage outcome and enrollment directions for each applicant.
After applying
Keep mailing, phone and email details updated with DSS. Ask the agency about an unclear decision or renewal request rather than assuming the whole household has the same coverage.
