New Hampshire WIC

New Hampshire WIC applications begin online or by contacting a local clinic for an appointment. The clinic completes the assessment and explains food and nutrition benefits.

Who can apply

New Hampshire WIC serves pregnant applicants, breastfeeding parents through the baby’s first year, non-breastfeeding parents through six months after birth, and children younger than five. Applicants must live in their local agency’s service area, meet income rules and have a nutrition risk assessed by WIC staff. The state publishes income guidelines at 185% of the federal poverty level; use its current household-size table rather than an older dollar limit.

What help is available

Benefits support nutrition through approved foods, education, breastfeeding support and referrals. They are different from a general food-budget EBT award.

Documents to prepare

  • Identity for each applicant and caregiver.
  • Residence and household-income records requested by the clinic.
  • Existing benefit information if relevant.
  • Available pregnancy or child-health records.

How to get started

  1. Choose a clinic

Find your local clinic through SignUpWIC or call 800-942-4321.

  2. Request an appointment

The NH WIC pre-application lets you select a town and clinic to call you. If transferring from another state, call instead of submitting this pre-application.

  3. Complete certification

Ask the clinic which documents and family members to bring. Staff complete the eligibility and nutrition assessment and explain your food benefits.

After applying

Keep appointment instructions and contact the clinic about replacement cards or benefit changes. For account and benefit information, customer support is 855-279-0680; ebtEDGE also provides account access. If you disagree with an eligibility decision, ask about the state’s WIC fair-hearing process.

Common questions

Can I start online?

Yes. Use the NH WIC pre-application to request a clinic appointment; it does not complete certification.

Is a Social Security card the only acceptable identity proof?

No. NH’s published identity policy lists several alternatives; confirm the appropriate record with the clinic.

Does applying online finish certification?

No. The clinic completes the eligibility and nutrition assessment.

What if I already receive WIC in another state?

Call the New Hampshire WIC office to arrange a transfer. The state says not to use the online pre-application for transfers.

Who handles a replacement card?

Contact your local WIC clinic for a replacement card or changes to your food benefits.
