Who can apply
The state lists New Mexico residence, qualifying pregnancy/postpartum/breastfeeding or child category and household-income rules. Participation in Medicaid, SNAP, TANF or FDPIR may establish the income condition.
What help is available
Services include approved foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and referrals. These benefits are tailored to the participant rather than a general cash award.
Documents to prepare
- Identity for each applicant.
- Home-address proof in New Mexico.
- Income records for the preceding 30 days.
- Other benefit eligibility evidence where applicable.
- An existing WIC EBT card if the family previously participated.

The state asks each person applying to attend. Ask the clinic about acceptable alternatives if a record is missing.
Complete assessment
Explain nutrition needs and other benefits, then ask how to use the assigned food package.
After applying
Bring the WIC card to later appointments and follow the clinic’s education and review instructions. Ask for help before an appointment is missed or a required record cannot be obtained.

Common questions
Does another benefit automatically finish WIC enrollment?
No. It may establish income eligibility, but WIC still completes its assessment.
What if I lack one requested document?
The state asks applicants to contact the clinic about acceptable alternatives.
Can a mailing PO box prove home residence?
The application page asks for a New Mexico home address rather than a PO box.
