Who can apply
LIHEAP considers household income and responsibility for heating or medically necessary cooling costs, including some costs within rent. USF has its own utility-cost assessment; one submission is not automatic approval of both.
What help is available
LIHEAP offsets qualifying energy costs; USF credits help with qualifying electric or gas bills. Ask how an approved benefit reaches your account and what balance remains.
Documents to prepare
- Current energy bills and account details.
