Oregon TANF (Cash Assistance)

Oregon TANF supports qualifying families, pregnant people and certain young household heads. Apply online, by phone or at a local ODHS office.

Who can apply

The state reviews Oregon residence, low income and limited resources. The applicant must fit the program’s child-caregiver, pregnancy or young-head-of-household category.

What help is available

Approved cash uses the Oregon Trail EBT card. Most participants also receive a JOBS program assignment to support employment.

Documents to prepare

  • Household and dependent information.
  • Income and resource records.
  • Other evidence listed in the interview request.

How to get started

  1. Start the benefit application

Use the TANF Apply Now route.

  2. Complete the interview

ODHS schedules a telephone or in-person review.

  3. Review the award and JOBS plan

Ask what activities apply and explain any barrier requiring help.

After applying

Keep participation records and report changes under your case instructions. SNAP and OHP can be requested alongside TANF but receive their own eligibility review.
