SNAP Food Assistance (ACCESS Florida)

Florida’s Food Assistance program is SNAP. MyACCESS is the current application and case-management portal; older references to ACCESS Florida refer to the same state benefit system.

Who can apply

DCF assesses household income, household circumstances and other SNAP rules. Describe who lives with you and the people for whom you purchase and prepare food; do not assume that everyone at one address belongs to the same SNAP household.

What help is available

Approved households receive food assistance through EBT. The decision explains the award and certification period; the agency’s current purchase rules apply.

Documents to prepare

  • Prepare current income and household information.
  • Keep housing, childcare and relevant medical-expense records nearby.
  • DCF’s verification notice identifies the records it actually needs and the response deadline.

How to get started

  1. Apply through MyACCESS

Start at MyACCESS. A DCF Family Resource Center can help if online access is difficult.

  2. Complete the review

Check for an interview notice and requests for evidence. An interview may be required; follow your own pending notice rather than relying on someone else’s case experience.

  3. Keep the result

Save the submission confirmation and read the decision, EBT instructions and renewal date.

After applying

Read MyACCESS notices regularly. Contact DCF about an unclear decision, missing interview or requested record before the deadline in the notice.

Common questions

Must every document be uploaded before I apply?

MyACCESS says documents do not have to be uploaded to submit an application. DCF will tell you what it needs afterward.

Is ACCESS Florida still the portal name?

The current portal is MyACCESS. Start from DCF’s website rather than an unofficial login service.

Can I apply for other DCF benefits at the same time?

MyACCESS also handles temporary cash and medical assistance. Select the programs you need; each has its own eligibility rules.
