Who can apply
DFCS assesses low-income households. People who regularly buy and prepare food together may be treated as one household, including unrelated people sharing a home. Financial and other SNAP rules still apply.
What help is available
Approved households receive food benefits through EBT. The certification notice explains the award and review period.
Documents to prepare
- Prepare household names, contact information and current income records.
- Have housing and other relevant expense records available for the interview.
- Use DFCS’s verification request to identify the documents due for your case.
