Unemployment Benefits (Washington ESD)

Washington ESD reviews unemployment applications and eligibility for each claimed week. Benefits are not based on financial need.

Who can apply

ESD checks covered work hours, job separation and ability and availability to work. Its basic rules require at least 680 base-year hours.

What help is available

Approved weekly payments depend on the claim. Each week needs a separate certification.

Documents to prepare

  • Identity and contact details.
  • Employer and work history for the last 18 months.
  • Requested work-authorization and payment details.
