Unemployment Insurance (Delaware)

Delaware unemployment insurance offers temporary payments to qualifying workers. Initial claims and weekly benefit requests are separate steps.

Who can apply

The agency reviews recent wages, why work ended and whether you remain able, available and seeking work. A monetary determination alone does not establish every eligibility condition.

What help is available

Weekly payments depend on an approved claim and continuing eligibility. Report earnings and other required payments accurately.

Documents to prepare

  • Employer and wage history.
  • Job-separation information.
  • Pay stubs or other wage evidence, especially if reported wages seem incomplete.

How to get started

  1. File the initial or reopened claim

Use the claim link at Delaware DOL Unemployment Insurance.

  2. Review the wage determination

Check that employers and wages are correct; ask the agency how to challenge an error.

  3. Request benefits each week

Use the current weekly filing instructions, including WebBenefits or TeleBenefits options, and keep work-search records.

After applying

Read every notice and retain confirmations. Continue weekly claims while a dispute is pending, as instructed by the agency.
