Who can apply
The state lists income eligibility based on state median income. The local provider checks the household and property requirements and whether work is available.
What help is available
Weatherization is energy-efficiency work in the home, not a cash payment for the heating bill. The provider determines appropriate measures after assessment.
Documents to prepare
- Household income and member information.
- Property address, heating details and ownership or lease records.
- For rentals, ask about owner consent and required property paperwork.
How to get started

Complete the intake
Ask the Community Action Agency whether its heating-assistance intake also screens for weatherization and which documents to submit.
Arrange the assessment
Discuss access to the home, health or safety concerns and any owner permission needed before work.
After applying
