Who can apply
The program serves qualifying low-income households. The local provider assesses the application and the home; financial eligibility alone does not establish which work will be performed.
What help is available
Approved assistance consists of selected energy-efficiency services. It is not a cash grant for a homeowner to spend on an unrestricted renovation.
Documents to prepare
- Prepare household income information.
- Have your address, utility records and ownership or tenancy information available.
- Ask the provider about its current checklist and any owner-consent requirement before arranging a visit.
How to get started
Contact the local office
Find your county in the weatherization provider directory.
Request an application
FloridaCommerce says applications are available from local providers and are not available online through its directory.
Discuss the property
Explain your heating or cooling concerns and follow the provider’s assessment and scheduling instructions.
After applying
Confirm the scope of approved work with the provider. Ask before paying for work yourself; this program’s intake does not establish that a private repair bill will be reimbursed.

Common questions
Can I apply through a statewide online form?
FloridaCommerce’s directory says weatherization applications must be obtained from local providers.
Is this the same as LIHEAP?
No. Weatherization concerns selected efficiency services; LIHEAP concerns eligible energy bills.
Will every requested repair be approved?
The provider determines eligibility and available services. Ask about the specific problem at your home.
