Who can apply
Applicants must live in Idaho, meet household financial rules and provide identity and utility-expense evidence. The state requires proof of ownership or written permission for qualifying rentals. It also excludes dwellings weatherized during the preceding 15 years.
What help is available
Weatherization provides approved energy-efficiency services. It is distinct from a heating-bill payment and does not establish that every requested repair will be covered.
Documents to prepare
- Identity and household income records.
- Proof of utility expense.
- Ownership records or written rental-unit permission.
- Available information about previous weatherization work.
How to get started
Find the local agency
Use the contact route on DHW’s weatherization application page.
Complete energy-assistance intake
The state links an energy-assistance form for LIHEAP and WAP. Identify that you are requesting weatherization.
Arrange assessment
Discuss the property, prior work and requested services, and follow the local agency’s assessment instructions.
After applying
Ask the provider about the approved work and schedule. Do not assume a private repair payment will be reimbursed without program authorization.
