Weatherization Assistance Program (Kansas)

Kansas weatherization provides approved home energy improvements at no charge to eligible households. Apply through the provider serving your county.

Who can apply

Income-eligible renters and homeowners can apply. Current KHRC guidance identifies SSI, TANF or LIEAP receipt as an income-eligibility pathway. The home must meet property conditions too.

What help is available

An energy audit identifies efficiency and safety measures. Approved work is performed through the program’s auditors and contractors.

Documents to prepare

Prepare household income or qualifying-benefit evidence and property information. Disclose prior weatherization and ask about landlord permission for a rental.

How to get started

  1. Use KHRC’s current provider map and contact the county’s weatherization provider.

  2. Complete screening and arrange the energy assessment. The linked standardized application describes occupancy, active utilities and prior-weatherization conditions.

After applying

Confirm approved work, scheduling and contractor access with the provider. Keep completion paperwork and instructions for maintaining installed equipment.
