Who can apply
Income-qualified owners and renters may be considered. Renters need landlord permission, and local providers assess the property and prioritize available funding.
What help is available
An energy audit identifies suitable measures such as insulation, draft sealing or selected heating-system work. Approved services are improvements to the home rather than cash for any repair you choose.
Documents to prepare
- Income and household records requested by the agency.
- Your address and energy bills.
- Owner or tenancy information.
- Landlord contact and permission if renting.
How to get started
Contact the CAA serving your town
Use the state’s local intake guide.
Request weatherization explicitly
In Hillsborough and Rockingham, the provider uses a Fuel or Electric Assistance application and requires a yes answer to the weatherization-interest question. Ask your own agency about its form.
Arrange assessment
If selected, allow the audit and confirm the work authorized for the property.
After applying
Ask about waiting-list status and whether income certification needs renewal while waiting. After work, keep the provider’s inspection and maintenance instructions.
