Weatherization Assistance Program (Washington)

Washington weatherization provides assessed home-efficiency work through local agencies. Commerce lists providers by county.

Who can apply

Low-income homeowners and renters may qualify under federal-poverty, state-median or area-median income routes. The provider determines eligibility.

What help is available

An energy audit identifies suitable improvements such as insulation, air sealing or ventilation. Specific upgrades are not guaranteed.

Documents to prepare

  • Ask the agency for income and household records.
  • Property details and rental-owner permissions when requested.

How to get started

  1. Find intake

Use the county list on Commerce weatherization.

  2. Apply locally

Confirm documentation, eligibility and waiting times.

  3. Arrange assessment

Provide access for the energy audit and discuss property concerns.

After applying

Agree the approved work with the provider. Weatherization is not a guaranteed emergency heating response.
