Wyoming Child Care Assistance

Wyoming child care subsidy helps qualifying families pay for approved care while participating in an eligible activity. Apply through ECARES and confirm that your chosen provider can receive subsidy payments.

Who can apply

['Low-income families meeting financial and approved activity requirements.', 'Parents or caretakers generally need approved work or employment-related education; two-parent households must have qualifying activities during the same hours.']

What help is available

A contribution toward approved child care costs. Families may owe a share and any provider charge above DFS maximum reimbursement.

Documents to prepare

Prepare income for family members, employment or education schedules, child information and provider details. Ask about the Employer’s Statement or Self Employment Statement if relevant.

How to get started

  1. Use the ECARES link on the state child care page.
  2. Complete the subsidy application and provide the requested activity and income proof.
  3. Confirm the provider meets DFS requirements and the authorized hours.
  4. Ask the local DFS office about family charges before agreeing to care.

After applying

Keep the authorization and billing agreement. Report schedule and household changes as directed. If earnings increase, ask whether Transitional Child Care rules allow continued assistance. Do not assume every attendance hour is covered.
